An excellent opportunity is available within Digital Technology Services for a Senior IT Technician to join the Trust's Infrastructure Team.
The Infrastructure Team provides the operational support and management of the Trust's server infrastructure and network environment.
The Trust is looking for a lead technician and to lead on a number of infrastructure projects. This includes acting as the lead architect for the Trusts' core infrastructure.
Main duties of the job
Senior IT Technician - Permanent
We are seeking a highly experienced and talented infrastructure engineer with exceptional server/networking and cyber security skills to manage and lead the Trusts' infrastructure estate.
Main Duties
- Manage and monitor the Windows server and network infrastructure ensuring they are operating efficiently so down time is kept to an absolute minimum.
- Provide maintenance support to the Windows 2012 R2 and Windows 2016 server infrastructure thereby ensuring effective operation. This includes managing the backup process in accordance with the SLA.
- Provide 3rd line support and troubleshooting assistance to core systems. This includes using your Active Directory skills to resolve infrastructure issues. These may include but not exclusively limited to addressing group policy, OU management and assigning user permissions, etc.
- Provide support assistance on a variety of IT infrastructure technologies which include: Netapps, Citrix, VMware, Solarwinds, Veritas and Nutanix. Have a working knowledge of: Palo Alto Firewalls, Sophos XG, Cohesity/Hycu, Veeam, Unitrends and any future support technologies. Ensure all IT platforms are kept up to date with the latest security specifications.
- Have a good working knowledge of Azure Sentinel and cyber security in general.

- Good working knowledge on hosting hyper convergent platforms such as Nutanix or equivalent
- Good working knowledge of cyber security technologies

- Good working knowledge of Vmware & Citrix and/or Cisco Networks
- Strong experience of working in an equivalent busy IT office
