Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the Strategy & Partnerships team as Head of Business and Service Development. Reporting to the Chief Officer for Strategy & Partnerships, the post holder will be a senior change leader, working across the organisation and wider health and social care system to identify business and service development opportunities that will deliver the Trust's strategic objectives. These business and service development opportunities will be transformational; improving the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of Trust services and, above all, making a major difference to the health outcomes of the local population and the working lives of colleagues within the organisation.

The successful applicant will have experience of leading successful tenders, in the NHS or private sector, as well as significant experience of leading and delivering change in the health or service sector.

Main duties of the job

Key elements of the role will include

  • Identifying new business opportunities or activity, and leading in the decision-making around new or changing services
  • Leading the co-ordination of tenders for new or existing contracts, working with clinical, operational and corporate colleagues and ensuring a high-quality submission.
  • Developing new and improved models for service delivery, including assessing, identifying the need for, and establishing relationships with partners.
  • Developing and delivering, or overseeing delivery of, time-limited projects, including delivering improvements in existing services as part of the Trust's Value in Healthcare programme.
  • Direct management responsibility for a number of Service Improvement and Development Partners

The post holder will be part of the Strategy and Partnerships senior leadership team and be seen as a senior leader in the wider organisation.

We welcome and encourage flexible working and would be willing to consider this as a secondment or development opportunity.
