Job summary

The Birmingham Community Podiatry team is one of the largest in the UK. We offer a range of specialist services for high risk patients and have excellent links with the acute sector, including vascular and diabetes.

An excellent opportunity is available for enthusiastic, flexible and motivated podiatrists to join our committed and progressive team. The role will mainly be based within either the Central and South or East and North localities of this vibrant city.

Main duties of the job

You should be HCPC registered with a degree in podiatry and an understanding of podiatry in the NHS.

You should have established clinical skills: confident in assessment and individual treatment planning of a caseload, with a strong emphasis on the high risk patient, including specialist wound care. Demonstrate confidence to manage MSK conditions and should also exhibit proficient IT skills.

You should be confident to work autonomously in community clinics and on home visits. You should also be able to demonstrate an ability to work as a part of a wider team. You will be expected to take part in nail surgery and will have opportunity for rotation into specialist areas.

Excellent communication, organisational and prioritisation skills are essential, using your own initiative, as well as working in a team. You will be expected to take an active part in CPD and student placements and should be prepared to be given responsibility within clinics.
