Do you enjoy MDT working and want to expand your enteral feeding knowledge? We have an exciting opportunity for a Dietitian to join our patient-centered community service for Adults with Learning Disabilities in Birmingham, the post is based with the specialist multidisciplinary team who are made up of Dietitians, Nutrition Nurses, Speech and Language Therapists Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Learning Disability Nurses
This specialist LD dietetic team receives Professional support and clinical supervision from Birmingham Community Nutrition so an opportunity to work alongside colleagues in many other dietetic disciplines exists.
The department is committed to your personal development offering external training opportunities and has an internal program of clinical update sessions. We are also recognized for our breadth student training opportunities, taking student from both the local HEIs.
Main duties of the job
This is a permanent position suitable for HCPC registered Dietitians only. Although currently based in the Greenfields, Kings Norton area an ability to travel around the city is essential
The successful applicant will manage a varied caseload including nutritional support, enteral feeding, weight management and lifestyle interventions with the support and guidance of senior clinicians. Patients are seen in a variety of settings within Birmingham including patients homes, day centres, care homes, respite units, clinics, and colleges.
Previous experience in learning disabilities is desirable but not essential as professional development and clinical supervision are given high priority.
