Job summary

Are you an enthusiastic, motivated and committed Senior Pharmacy Technician? If so, we would like you to join our Pharmacy & Medicines Management Team? You will need to have the skills to be able to work within the wider multi-disciplinary team of nurses, doctors and other allied healthcare professionals and managers. You will want to develop and improve the reliability and quality of the clinical pharmacy service. You will need to have specific experience working with pharmacy teams and patients within the hospital setting. You will want to reach targets set by the Trust and by the pharmacy service. You must be self- motivated and able to motivate others.

Main duties of the job

You will lead a team of pharmacy technicians and provide operational support where required. You will support the provision of clinical pharmacy service to community hospital wards, urgent treatment centres and patients being cared for in their home environment ensuring the delivery of safe and effective pharmacy service. You will have a particular role in implementing and monitoring the clinical pharmacy standards and working closely with the Chief and Associate Chief Pharmacist to identify service gaps. You will be responsible for areas of service and line management of pharmacy technicians. You will also be involved in working with the senior pharmacy colleagues in undertaking and developing audits and projects to evaluate and improve services in line with the department's and trust priorities.

The postholder must be able to show leadership skills and be driven to improve the care of the communities we serve through medicines management.
