Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to expand our enthusiastic and driven service. We are looking for motivated band 5 therapists to join our forward-thinking and supportive team due to internal re-structuring.

This vacancy is for a spilt post across our community and acute teams. Our community team covers the whole of Lincolnshire and we are now providing a 6 day service across our acute settings of Pilgrim Hospital, Boston and Lincoln County Hospital, Lincoln. Your base and the configuration of sessions can be discussed at interview according to your location.

Main duties of the job

o To assess, diagnose and treat clients with speech, language, communication and/ or eating/ drinking/ swallowing difficulties.

o To provide a clinical service to a designated caseload, in a location most suited to meeting the client's needs.

o Specific responsibility for a designated caseload, reflecting specialist knowledge and working to defined service protocols.

  • Recognised Speech & Language Therapy degree or equivalent qualification
  • HCPC registration
  • Registered member of RCSLT
  • Basic IT skills

Desirable

  • Successful completion of relevant/ recognised professional short courses
  • Completion of dysphagia competencies
  • Other relevant qualifications, e.g. counselling certificate
  • Membership of relevant CENs

Experience

Essential

  • Relevant pre-qualification experience at under/post-graduate level
  • Knowledge of Clinical Governance activities
