Band 5 Apprenticeship Development Post - Physiotherapist Apprentice (ANNEX 21 framework)
An exciting opportunity is available for the right candidate to join LCHS NHS Trust as a Physiotherapist Apprentice. The right candidate will need to demonstrate that they are highly motivated, problem solvers, demonstrate good time management, and a willingness to succeed using the LCHS values and behaviours. The apprenticeship is a mixture of academic study, clinical placements and implementing those skills whilst working the rest of the time in your set team.
On completion of the academic programme the aim is to have reached the baseline salary of a band 5 registered physiotherapist
Main duties of the job
The academic element of the apprenticeship will be hosted by Sheffield Hallam University over 3 years.
You would be required to travel weekly to university throughout the duration of your learning. In addition, you may be required to travel across Lincolnshire and beyond to complete your clinical placements.
Successful candidates would be given further information on completion of the organisational interview. If recommended at this point you would then be nominated to go forward for an interview at the university. Potential apprentices are required to be successful at both stages to be able to join the programme.

Time management and prioritisation skills are key, not just in the practice element but also to handle the academic requirements. The profession helps to encourage development and facilitate recovery, enabling people to remain independent for as long as possible. As a qualified physiotherapist, you will practise as an autonomous, independent practitioner, while contributing strongly to team-working. Individuals can seek care directly from you and without referral from another professional. You will work with people who may present with complex and challenging problems resulting from multiple illnesses, injury or disability. In addition to providing physiotherapy interventions, you will play a substantial educational, health coaching and advisory role to patients, other healthcare professionals and the public. Physiotherapists typically work in a range of large and small organisations across public, private and charitable sectors.
On successful completion of the Physiotherapist Apprenticeship, apprentices are eligible to apply to the HCPC for registration as a Physiotherapist, which is a requirement to practice under the protected title of Physiotherapist. You will also be eligible to apply for Professional Membership of The Royal College of Physiotherapists.
