Job summary

LCHS NHS Trust is offering an exciting opportunity to an individual who meets the job specification within our Learning and Organisational Development Team Apprentice Centre, working across Lincolnshire. The successful applicant will be joining our team to deliver apprenticeships, assessing and supporting learners in practice across the health care spectrum. They will deliver a series of supporting Healthcare and Non-Healthcare workshops that enhances our learners experience.

The role is designed to enrich the quality of the learning delivered and to prepare staff for their next step in their vocational development as part of organisational approaches to 'growing for the future'. You will have a qualification in assessing such as CAVA or TAQA, have some experience or occupational competence in clinical and care expertise. This position will also consider applicants who demonstrate the right attitude and behaviours on a development pathway if you do not hold all the essential requirements.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support the implementation and delivery of apprenticeship education, functional skills, training, design and development of Clinical Apprenticeship Programmes. They will be responsible for compliance with the academic and apprenticeship standards prescribed by the awarding bodies or regulators.

As contribution within the Learning & Organisational Development Team, the post holder will ensure that the workforce is fit for purpose in terms of their roles and that individual role competencies are reviewed to provide a safe, high quality and efficient service.

The post holder will contribute to the Trust's education and development strategies, supporting projects as designated by the Apprenticeship Manager.

Act as expert in the delivery of the clinical apprenticeship standards and care certificates.

Possessing the relevant knowledge, theory and understanding to support learners throughout the programme of study.

Provide regular support to learners in accordance with Apprentice Centre requirements.

Providing accurate records that are documented in the correct format that satisfies both Ofsted and ESFA requirements.

To be responsible for carrying out work based visits, observations and reviews in a timely manner to ensure apprentices are meeting deadlines and progressing as targeted.

Supports initial skills assessment and is actively involved in the induction of new starters.

Proactively manages learners that are non-compliant and follows up all on all nonattendances in a timely manner.

Contribute and support the development of the Clinical Apprenticeship delivery both internally and externally.

Prepare accurate and concise reports, both written and verbal using Ecordia electronic portfolio.

Deploy effective communication strategies to ensure that information and knowledge is imparted sensitively according to needs of patients, staff and learners in training.

To maintain professional registration, competence and continual professional development by appropriate means e.g. attendance at standardisation, conferences and learning events.

To create and maintain collaborative and constructive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders through attendance at appropriate groups, forums and other meetings/ events as required.

To prioritise own work commitments to meet the needs of the service and to manage own work time effectively.

Provision of information, advice and guidance to all learners whilst on programme.

Design and deliver other training both internally and externally to the Trust that supports Apprentice Centre development.

Manage own projects either created or allocated by the Apprentice Lead.

Support the recruitment of Higher Degree Apprenticeships where support is necessary from the Apprentice Lead.

To liaise with professional and managerial colleagues to ensure approach to supporting the provision of apprenticeship programmes is developed in a cohesive and comprehensive manner.
