Our current Chief Operating Officer (COO) has secured an exciting new opportunity so we are looking for someone until 31 March 2024 on an interim basis.

Main duties of the job
As a member of the Trust Executive Team, with executive colleagues, you will hold responsibility for the strategic leadership, direction and development of the Trust and be an influential system leader in the local health economy, helping to shape the health and social care system for the benefit of local service users, working closely with peers in the provider organisations and ICB.
As COO, you will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to the Operational Directorate. You will hold specific accountability for providing strategic development, leadership and performance on all operational matters. You will have responsibility for providing the focus within the Trust for developing the annual Integrated Plan, in line with the Trust's Clinical Strategy and trusts strategic aims and objectives. You will also have accountability for the estates and facilities portfolio and be responsible to Board through the CEO for the development and delivery of the strategic and annual capital plans and trust estates, to provide high quality, safe services which enhance the patient experience and provide a great environment for our people.
As a member of the Executive team, you will champion and drive robust service redesign and effective performance management, evaluation and governance as you will be a catalyst and incubator for new ways of working as we strive to deliver services innovatively to improve quality and use our resources efficiently.

We will see a renewed and refreshed focus on pathways of care developed with our partners. Working even closer with GP practices and the Primary Care Networks (PCNs) using population health information and data to make sure health funding is directed to those that need it, in the most efficient way. This will support patients and their families to manage and own their healthcare needs, enabling them to look after themselves to get better quicker and see great outcomes.
