Job summary

An exciting opportunity has developed for a Band 6 Specialist Respiratory Physiotherapist to join the multi-award-winning Complex Needs Rapid Response Respiratory Physiotherapy Service.

The post has been developed to support expansion of the service to become an all-age respiratory service for children and adults with complex physical disabilities who have additional respiratory problems, to manage their acute respiratory problems at home preventing hospital admissions.

This exciting service is committed to excellence in respiratory care, is well connected nationally and actively engaged in research.

If you are passionate about respiratory management of children with complex physical disabilities and want to work in a forward thinking, dynamic team then this role if for you.

The role involves traveling countywide to assess and treat patients in their own home, as well as education settings, nurseries, and social care settings.

Main duties of the job

To provide specialist assessment, diagnosis and, evidence based intervention and management to children and adults with complex physical disabilities referred for respiratory physiotherapy management

To work in partnership with the child/adult and their parents/carers to agree the most appropriate respiratory physiotherapy management and treatment.

To manage a caseload of children and adults across a variety of settings including the patients own home.

To provide the child/adult and their carers with specialist training to carry out a specialist respiratory management plan to better manage their respiratory problems day to day.

To work with the Clinical Team Lead to implement policy changes in own clinical area.

To participate in audit and research.
