Main duties of the job

We're looking for an enthusiastic and proactive person to join our Grantham community based patient admin services team. You will learn a range of administrative skills, working closely with our clinical team members and speaking directly to our patients. You will be given the opportunity to contribute to the development of our team by completing projects and suggesting ideas.

You will complete the Level 3 (Advance) Business Administrator Apprenticeship, which incorporates the nationally recognised Pearson Business and Administration Diploma qualification through LCHS's own accredited Apprenticeship Centre.

Job responsibilities

The main duties and responsibilities of the role are to;

  • Book, amend or cancel patient appointments, ensuring all records are updated and patients and clinicians are informed.
  • Receive, record, transmit, store and retrieve information from paper or electronic records and databases in order to maintain accurate patient records using both computer and paper.
  • Deal with enquiries from patients, sometimes of a sensitive nature, and signpost these to the appropriate professional.
  • Advise patients on access to and use of services.
  • Provide a range of administrative functions, which may include producing letters, processing patient referrals, scanning, photocopying, filing, sorting post and other office/administration duties.
  • Complete projects set by the senior team.
  • Assist in the monitoring, control and ordering of stock and supplies in accordance with LCHS procedures.
  • Adhere to LCHSs information governance requirements, treat all information as confidential and abide by the Data Protection Act/GDPR.
