Healthcare Support Worker/Phlebotomist - Deeping & Spalding Community Nursing Team, Johnson Community Hospital
Part time opportunity available - 16hrs per week over 4 shifts Mon-Fri
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a member of the Deeping & Spalding Community Nursing Team based at the Johnson Community Hospital, Spalding.
We have an opportunity for the right person to join our hardworking and dedicated team of nurses and healthcare support workers. The successful candidates will be responsible for assisting qualified nursing staff in the provision of high quality standards of patient care, recognising the need of the individual patient. Good communication skills, both oral and written are also required, as well as being able to demonstrate evidence of team working.
There will also be opportunities for the development of their current skills in a variety of competencies. At LCHS we focus on growing our own by prioritizing development opportunities and supporting growth.

Main duties of the job
The role is primarily visiting housebound patients in their own homes or care homes to obtain blood samples for phlebotomy screening. The ideal candidate will have experience of this aspect of care and have a good understanding of the process involved in obtaining, processing and dispatching samples for testing.
The role may also involve supporting the team in providing skin checks for patients and promoting pressure ulcer prevention, full training will be given.
