This is a rare opportunity to train to become an AAT Foundation Level 2 Qualified Accounts Apprentice, earning a wage whilst you work as part of our fast-moving, innovative and ambitious Finance team supporting our organisation Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) to be able to provide great care close to home.

Main duties of the job

About the Role

This is a 15 month fixed term AAT Accredited Accounts Apprentice vacancy in our FBI Team based at LCHS Trust Headquarters, Beech House, Lincoln. The hours of work will be 37.5, Monday to Friday, on the national minimum wage rate. You will provide day to day comprehensive, effective and efficient support to a wide range of functions across the Finance function.

The post holder will be an integral member of the department with varied job role and responsibilities that meet service needs.

Job responsibilities

The post holder will be an integral member of the department with varied responsibilities according to service needs which will include, but not be limited to:

  • Working with figures and spreadsheet
  • Answering telephone and email queries and redirecting as appropriate
  • Preparing letters for mail shots
  • Providing effective and efficient administrative support
  • Preparation and manipulation of data including data entry
  • Archiving
  • Answering enquires

This Accounts Apprenticeship Programme is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to begin their career in Finance and Accounting.

To apply for this post you must have 5 GCSEs including Maths at grade 4 or above (or equivalent). Predicted grades will be accepted if awaiting results. You should also be able to demonstrate some work experience or involvement in extra circular activities.

Person Specification



  • 5 GCSEs 4/C Grade or above (or equivalent) Maths GCSE at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent). Predicted gradings accepted.
  • Information & communications technology (ICT) Skills
  • Previous work experience in any area or involvement in extracurricular activities
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
  • Computer/Keyboard skills
