We are looking to welcome to our team an Assistant Psychologist.
Step2 is an early intervention child and young person mental health service. We are a team of dynamic professionals committed to improving child and adolescent mental health in Hertfordshire.
Step2 is committed to service development and improvement and as such, draws on community psychology frameworksand co-production principles to ensure improved accessibility and partnership working with the local community.
Main duties of the job
You will be expected to work flexibly, willing to work across the County of Hertfordshire and able to adapt the way you work to best meet the needs of our most vulnerable children and families and our service.For full details of the role please see the attached job description and person specification document.

- oAn upper second-class honours degree or higher in psychology
- oEntitled to graduate membership of the British Psychological Society
Desirable
- oFurther post graduate training or degree in relevant areas of professional psychology, mental health practice and/or research design and analysis

- oAn ability to apply existing psychological knowledge, underpinned by theory to a mental health context.
- oAn understanding of the needs and difficulties of people with mental health challenges.
Experience

- oExperience of working with children, young people and families who have mental health difficulties.
- oExperience of working with families presenting with complex social issues.

- Experience completing risk assessments.
- Experience working in a mental health setting within the NHS. Previous experience of working as an assistant psychologist or equivalent.
