Applying experience and skill sets developed in relatable role(s), you would be working with all areas of the organisation to support the effective management of risk across the Trust.

Main duties of the job
This role will form an integral part of the Corporate Governance Team, supporting the management of the Trust's patient and non-patient incident and risk records. You will support the development and implementation of robust systems and processes to enable data quality, consistency and integrity. This will support clinicians, managers, patients and the public to have the highest possible confidence in health data, enhancing the provision of the services and safeguard care and patient safety.
Working proactively with the Head of Risk and Assurance we expect you to support the development of the risk management agenda. This will include, ensuring all internal and external reporting requirements are met and supporting the patient safety agenda within the Trust. Responsible for the daily operations of the Risk Management team, you will deputise for the Head of Risk and Assurance as required.
You will be required to engage with staff at all levels of seniority, supporting their understanding of, application of, and compliance with, Trust risk and incident management policies and procedures. As a primary point of contact on risk matters for a range of staff, you will have strong communication skills, ensuring that a professional image of the Trust is maintained at all times when dealing with external stakeholders and organisations is critical

- Monitor, review and support the complete, timely and accurate capture of risks and alert the Head of Risk and Assurance to significant risks that are identified.
- Provide continuous oversight of incidents across the Trust so as to provide assurance around the timely and accurate capture of all incidents in the risk management system and management of these through the appropriate workflows.
- Lead in the operational development, knowledge management and implementation of the Trusts local risk management system and associated workflows.
- Plan, scope and deliver risk and incident management training and support the development of skills across all staff groups and at Board level.
- Provide relevant statistical and trend analysis and reporting to Trust governance committees and groups, supporting individual teams and services in their decision making and to learn lessons from the incidents and risks.
- Ensure data is complete and accurate prior to internal and external distribution and uploading of data to national learning systems.
- Analyse reports from external benchmarking data available to ensure significant issues are followed up within HCT, for example outcomes from the National Learning System report.
- Occasional travel to other Trust locations.
