Job responsibilities

You will use your previous training as a CWP or EMHP to deliver low level mental health interventions to adolescents and the parents of children presenting with mild anxiety, low mood and behavioural difficulties. As part of this role you will be expected to complete assessments, deliver 1-1 and group interventions, risk assess where necessary and facilitate workshops. There will be occasions where you may be asked to work flexibly e.g. running workshops after 5pm and working across more than one quadrant. Therefore, please note it is essential you have a full driving license, have access to a car and that you are confident and comfortable driving.

This role would suit applicants keen to progress their career as a CWP, working therapeutically with children and families.

Person Specification

Qualifications and Training

Essential

• oA postgraduate qualification from a CWP training course/ successful completion of a course if towards the end of the course
• oA minimum of a second-class Bachelor's degree from a UK university or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard in a relevant subject (e.g. psychology)
• oEvidence of working with children and young people with mental health difficulties

Desirable

• oTraining in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, counselling or within a specific psychological therapy
• oPsychology or other health /social care/youth related undergraduate degree
• oOther relevant postgraduate degree

Experience and Knowledge

Essential

• oEvidence of working with children and young people with mental health difficulties
• oExperience of providing manualised guided self-help to children and young people and parents/carers
• oDemonstrates an understanding of how mild to moderate anxiety, low mood and behavioural difficulties may present
• oExperience of completing initial assessments and formulations
• oKnowledge of Safeguarding Children policies and procedures

• oFull, enhanced and current satisfactory DBS disclosure for the role.
• oEligible to live and work in the UK
• oHold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010)
