Job summary
We are looking for a Specialist Diabetes Podiatrist to work as part of Herts Integrated Diabetes Service (HIDS) covering Herts Valleys CCG area.
HIDS provides podiatry from 10 clinical sites and works in an integrated way with West Herts Hospital Trust to provide MDFT and in- patient ward rounds as well as community clinics.
This is an exciting opportunity for an HCPC registered Podiatrist.
The base for this role is negotiable within West Herts.
Interviews will take place on the 7th of March 2023
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for working across the community and acute service running MDFT clinics at Watford General Hospital and Hemel Hempstead General Hospital and participating in the MDT ward rounds at Watford General Hospital as well as community clinics and being part of the 'clinician of the day rota'.
You will have access to regular training and reflective supervision.
You will need a full valid driving licence and access to a car to use regularly for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by The Equality Act 2010)

- The post holder will provide advanced experience and knowledge within the field of diabetes within podiatric medicine and must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and be qualified to administer local anaesthetic.
- To provide advanced clinical expertise across the service area, participating in the development of professional competences and participation in professional appraisal systems.
- The post holder will be an expert resource for patients and will promote and facilitate self-management principles in appropriate patients.
- The post holder will work in collaboration with all members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, to promote excellent standards of care to patients in line with any local or National principles/guideline, and to provide education to professionals, patients and their carers by encouraging independence and self-management.
