Job summary
The Mental Health Support Team in SEN schools are undergoing a major expansion, with our services across Hertfordshire and West Essex. We are seeking to appoint a motivated, committed, flexible and forward-thinking Band 6 Positive Behavioural Analyst, who is committed to supporting Children and Young People (CYP) with SEND.
The Mental Health Support Team offers early intervention mental health support, to children and their families, within schools. The Sen's MHST is the only MHST within the country, to offer support specifically to SEN schools we are hosted by the PALMS service, and work within Hertfordshire and West Essex. We currently work within 20 SEN schools with a plan to expand, offering tailored support to children with additional needs, learning disabilities, and Autistic Spectrum Disorder aged 5-18. We offer group work, individual interventions with child or family, and support the school to develop their whole school approach to overall wellbeing.

Main duties of the job
This is a very exciting opportunity to be part of an expanding team and to participate in a fully funded qualification, at the university of Reading to become a fully qualified EMHP supervisor.
You will be working in a variety of school environments across Hertfordshire and West Essex, combined with being part of a "virtual team" to deliver our service. We operate from 7-7 Monday to Friday.
The post is fixed term for one year with high potential of extension and will be full time; However, the trust is open to exploring part time and flexible working. You must be prepared to carry out travel across Hertfordshire and West Essex.

- To support in making a difference to CYP and their families by working in partnership and to support them in achieving positive outcomes.
- To provide a qualified highly specialist community service to CYP with learning disabilities and/or an autism spectrum disorder where they are concerned with challenging behaviour, toileting, feeding, sleeping concerns, and problematic sexualised behaviour, and/or mental health difficulties, and to their families across all sectors of care.
- To provide specialist assessment and intervention using Applied Behaviour Analysis and Positive Behaviour Support in collaboration with colleagues as appropriate.
- To undertake assessments, as appropriate, related to difficulties within the MHST remit, to determine the needs of the CYP.
- To establish effective and mutually respectful working relationships with care providers on the CYP's pathway including Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services, Child Development Centres, Social Care and Education.
- To work in partnership with parents and schools
- To manage, seek support and take action against risk and safeguarding
- To undertake clinically related administration, conduct audits and research projects, collect and analyse service data, develop databases, and to participate in teaching and project work.
