Step2 is an Early Intervention Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service which is working towards improving the mental health and emotional wellbeing of children and young people in Hertfordshire. The service works with children aged 0 - 19 and has clinical practitioners from a range of backgrounds who all share our vision of delivering inclusive and high quality therapeutic care to children and young people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidates would be working in Step2, Early Intervention CAMHS Service which is part of Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust.You will be delivering highly skilled clinical work and will be expected to work flexibly, willing to work across the County of Hertfordshire and be able to adapt the way you work to best meet the needs of our most vulnerable children and families.You will have a key role in assessing mental health needs, formulating treatment plans and liaising with partners and families to ensure the treatment pathway is most appropriate for that child. You will deliver a high standard of brief, goal focused, therapeutic intervention to children and young people with a mild to moderate mental health presentation.

Essential
- Qualifications that demonstrate a capacity to complete academic work at postgraduate diploma level.
- A minimum of a second-class Bachelor's degree from a UK university or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard in a relevant subject e.g. psychology AND/OR a registerable professional qualification in a relevant subject (e.g. medicine, psychology, social work, nursing) from a UK university of overseas professional qualification of an equivalent standards
Desirable
- A training in a mental-health related profession (e.g. psychology, nursing, health visiting; social-work, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, special needs teaching, psychiatry, other psychotherapy, counselling).

- Knowledge and understanding of issues relating to safeguarding children

- Experience working with children/young people in a mental health setting
