Programme Manager -West Herts Diabetes Retinal Eye screening Programme (WHDESP)
We are looking for an experienced, innovative Leader and Manager (non-clinical) to be responsible for the day-to-day operational management, delivery, and development of the Programme.
Supported by the Clinical Leads, reporting to the Planned Clinical Pathway Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring the programme meets the nationally prescribed Key Performance indicators, quality standards and the national service specification as well as preparing and presenting reports to NHSE and the PHE QA teams, demonstrating progress against these standards.

Main duties of the job
- The programme manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management, delivery, and development of the service; ensuring the service demonstrates secure systems of working and is run to the highest clinical standards.
- The service requires effective leadership to meet NHSE Diabetic Eye Screening Programme commissioned KPIs, being responsive to the retinal screening needs of people with diabetes across West Hertfordshire in order that early-stage diabetic retinopathy is identified and that this sight threatening condition is promptly referred for treatment.
- To provide effective leadership and management of clinicians and admin staff and to be responsible for the development of staff within the service
- To be responsible for a delegated budget and associated financial activities in line with standing financial instructions

In addition to the basic salary, this post attracts a High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of basic salary subject to a minimum payment of £1,136 and a maximum payment of £1,915 per annum (pro rata where applicable).
You must hold a full valid driving licence and access to a car to use regularly for business purposes including business insurance is essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
