Band 7 Highly Specialist Children's Occupational Therapist (Recruitment and Retention Premium included)
Do you want to make a difference to improve children's lives? We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and creative Occupational Therapist to work within our our well established Occupational Therapy team based in Hertford including sessions in the Bishop's Stotford/West Essex corridor. You will be joining an innovative and agile Children and Young People's Therapy (CYPT) Service committed to delivering high quality intervention and transforming lives.
Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust (HCT) provides integrated Children's OT, Physiotherapy and Speech & Language Therapy Services for children and their families across the county. Our service is jointly commissioned by health and education, allowing us to provide a seamless pathway of care from early years through to schools, specialist provisions and further education settings. We are continuing to establish our service delivery model, based upon a 3 tier model, with provision at Universal, Targeted and Specialist tiers.
This post attracts a Recruitment and Retention Premium of £3000 pro rata, to be paid in 3 instalments: £1000 (pro rata) after 6 months (upon completion of successful probationary period) and a further £1000 (pro rata) 6 months after probation; and a final payment of £1000 (pro rata) 6 months after this. Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be expected to hold an integrated caseload for young people aged 0-18 years, providing a service which meets both the health and social care Occupational Therapy needs of CYP, providing interventions in a variety of settings, including special schools. We are looking for a highly specialist, motivated, creative, flexible clinician with a range of relevant clinical experience and leadership skills.
Candidates must have significant post graduate experience/training in assessment and treatment using neurodevelopmental and/or sensory treatment and also some knowledge on housing adaptations. However support, mentoring and further training will be provided to meet the individual needs of practitioners in areas where further up skilling and development is required. The successful candidate will be expected to carry out detailed assessments which will be used to design and develop evidence based plans.

In addition to the basic salary, this post attracts a High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of basic salary subject to a minimum payment of £1,066 and a maximum payment of £1,845 per annum (pro rata where applicable).A full valid driving licence and access to a car to use regularly for business purposes is essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
