Job summary

Are you caring and compassionate, highly organised and enjoy fast-paced patient-facing roles? If so we are looking for you to join our friendly Reception Team. Representing our busy community hospital, the role will be working front of house on reception where you may deal with incoming telephone calls and face to face enquiries from patients, colleagues, and visitors. You will support the clinicians and be part of the wider ward clerking team within the community hospital setting. The role is varied and you will form close working relationships with the administration and clinical team. This post is for 37.5 hours and our core hours are 08:00-16:00 Monday to Friday.

We will provide you with resources to develop and progress a long term career as well as flexibility, continual professional development as well as a wide range of wellbeing and support. Main duties of the job

  • Meet and greet visitors, contractors, couriers and delivery personnel
  • Maintain a professional demeanour
  • Able to multi-task and think on your feet
  • Scanning, photocopying, laminating, uploading of documents
  • Report any faulty equipment to facilities
  • Ensure Reception is clean and tidy
  • Keep noticeboards up to date
  • Answer incoming phone calls from patients, relatives and other outside agencies
  • Direct visitors to different departments as appropriate
  • Support general in person enquiries at the desk
  • Dealing with car parking queries
  • Scanning of clinical notes
  • Booking transport for patients

  • Level 2 qualification (e.g. GCSE Grade 4-9/A-C, NVQ 2, OCR/RSA 2, City & Guilds 2) in a Business Administration related subject OR Level 2 qualification in an alternative subject and will be expected to undertake the relevant level 2 qualification on appointment to post OR Considerable recent NHS administrative experience and will be expected to undertake the relevant level 2 qualification on appointment to post
