An excellent opportunity has arisen for a B2 Combined
Healthcare Support worker/receptionist to join our friendly team at Kidderminster
Sexual Health Clinic.. We pride ourselves in providing outstanding sexual
health care to patients across the Wyre Forest, as part of a county wide sexual
health service.
We currently have a 20 hour post available which can be
worked over 3 and 4 days on a rota basis. The role includes 1 Saturday morning
and early evening work.
The base is Kidderminster Health Cnetre although
flexibility is expected to help cover other areas within Worcestershire if
required
This post is an excellent opportunity to develop both
clinical and administrative skills within sexual health services. We will
provide the resources for you to develop and progress and offer flexibility,

This
role requires you to have current right to work in the UK which enables you to
undertake the role without need of sponsorship. Given the current UK

Main duties of the job
On a day to day basis you will provide a range of
reception/clerical duties which include meeting, greeting and registering
patients, either face to face or by telephone, as a first point of call for
patients presenting to sexual health services.
You will also assist clinical teams in delivering sensitive care to both
male and female patients; by acting as a chaperone during examinations and
procedures always promoting their dignity and comfort.
Your role includes the opening and closing of clinics,
cleaning, stocking and maintaining the clinic environment.
There is the opportunity to learn to take blood from
patients, and be involved in the processing and preparation of collecting
samples from patients

- Assist and support the Sexual Health Service teams.
- Provide a range of reception / clerical duties that
reflects the meeting, greeting and registration needs of patients in the
service, hub and spokes. Assisting clinical team in delivering care to both
male and female patients; by acting as a chaperone asrequired during examinations and procedures, stocking
clinical areas and maintaining the clinical environment.
- Responsibility for the registration of patients and correct
filing of patients records.
- Input required data onto the computer system to ensure
service can collate national statutory data related to episodes / attendance.
- Collate patients notes and laboratory reports for
screening by nursing/medical staff.
- Basic clerical tasks e.g. photocopying, filing etc.
- Undertake word processing as required, to produce
routine letters, memos, labels etc.
- Operate fax machine and telephone answering machine.
- Receive and dispatch clinic post.
- Assist colleagues during the sensitive examination and
treatment of patients within the department, promoting their dignity and
comfort at all times.
- Work in a caring, professional and co-operative way with
patients, their significant others and colleagues.
- Take blood and other samples from patients, including as
no talk tests and assist in the preparation and processing of laboratory
samples.
- Undertake condom demonstrations and pregnancy tests.

environment, to include cleaning-up / re-stocking of work areas after use, to
include wiping down all surfaces at the end of each shift or session

- Level 2 qualification (e.g.GCSE Grade A-C, NVQ2) in a Health related subject or Business Administration or a good standard of general education to GCSE level and will be expected to undertake both Level 2 qualifications on appointment to post
