This is an exciting opportunity or next step in your career journey
where you have 2 years experience of working within CAMHS for you to join us
as an 8a Psychologist within our core CAMH Service. You will offer mental
health assessments and psychological interventions to children and young people
struggling with a range of moderate to severe mental health difficulties and
include working with the families and networks involved in the CYPs life.
You
will offer clinical and peer supervision to other staff, including trainee and
assistant psychologists and contribute to audit, research, teaching and
development work.
We will support you with training and leadership development, offer
regular supervision with an experienced CAMHS Psychologist and opportunity to
continue building specialist skills in our evidence-based pathways such as DBT,
Family Therapy or with Children in Care. Specialist and accredited training
such as EMDR can be offered.
The base will be confirmed with the successful candidate.
Main duties of the job
Working alongside other Psychologists, CAMHS clinicians and
Psychiatrists offering psychological interventions to CYPs and their families.
Assessment, formulation, consultation, and intervention for
CYPs with an emphasis on child-centred and evidence-based care in a mental
health setting. You would work mostly
with CYPs who present with complex mental health difficulties using a range of
psychological interventions that best meets the needs of the YP and fits with
the services offered in core CAMHS. This
includes direct work with the YP, family or consultation/liaison with the
network surrounding the child.
Access and support is offered to assist you to develop
specialist expertise with an active CPD plan.
You will provide clinical leadership working in collaboration
with managers, team leads and senior clinicians (appropriate to the stage of
your career development) supporting the MDTs through case discussions,
formulation and care planning. Carry a caseload and taking part in duty rota,
assessment and care planning
