Job summary
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, experienced
physiotherapist to join our community hospital therapy team to work 18hrs a
week.
The ability to use your initiative, work
proactively, demonstrate excellent communication and influencing skills, manage
and prioritise your own workload and respond flexibly to changing demands are
essential requirements of the post.
We have 7 Community Hospital sites across Worcestershire
offering inpatient rehabilitation. The whole team has a strong work ethic but
are extremely flexible and supportive in the balance of work and home life.
The role will provide you with variety and no two days are the same. You will
have autonomy to balance and achieve the demands of the role so will need to
demonstrate abilities in being responsive and flexible.

Main duties of the job
Day to day, you will be undertaking holistic assessments of inpatients
including those with multiple pathologies and reasons for admission, liaising
with the MDT and facilitating patient discharges. You will formulate individual programmes of
rehabilitation using clinical reasoning and utilising a range of treatment
skills and targeting realistic goals. It is also expected that you will offer
support and education to carers/families. You will work closely with therapy support
workers and Band 5 therapists as well as nursing staff to provide 24/7
rehabilitation.
You will attend the weekly MDT in which the team will discuss the
progress of patients and plans for discharge. You will also participate in
referral management and be liaising with other health care professionals.
