Job summary
We are looking
for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated RN with extensive clinical
skills to work within our countywide IV Therapy team. We are an ever developing IV Therapy
service working in conjunction with the Neighbourhood Teams, Community and
Acute hospitals. As a team our aim is to aid patient flow, and avoid admission,
facilitate the IV In reach service and new midline placement service which has
steps to expand.
The ideal
applicant should be competent in IV Therapy, but training can be provided for
cannulation and/or venepuncture. You
will be responsible for undertaking clinical assessments, monitoring patient
progress and contributing to the OPAT MDT.
You must have the ability to motivate yourself and others and work
autonomously in the community.
The post is
permanent for 30 hours a week and will include some weekends and bank holidays.
Main duties of the job
- You will be providing
countywide IV Therapy to Patients in their own homes via varying venous access
routes (Peripheral, PICC, Hickman, Portacaths and Midlines), working closely
with the Neighbourhood teams.
- EMIS and
OPATpms is used so knowledge of those or other EPR systems is useful, but
training can be provided.
- Communication
is Key as we deal with all members of multi-disciplinary team on a daily basis.
- Holistic care
of the patient and the ability to recognise and escalate patient deterioration
is essential.
- You will be
lone working and can cover numerous miles car driver essential.
