Job summary

Exciting opportunity, due to Maternity Leave, we require an enthusiastic, organised and confident individual to join our finance team, based at Kings Court 2, Charles Hastings Way, Worcester.

The role is responsible for delivering an efficient and effective management accounting service and you will work within a busy management accounts department. Responsibilities will include the day-to-day function in the provision of a highly professional and efficient management accountancy service covering the annual cycle of revenue (income and expenditure) accounting budget setting, budget reporting, monitoring and budget management.

The successful candidate must be able to

  • prioritise tasks in order to manage their workload effectively.
  • work well under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • apply a high level of concentration in a busy working environment.
  • demonstrate strong communication skills within the team and with budget managers.
  • show good knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

You will also be responsible for ensuring the delivery of complete, accurate and timely in-year financial reports to corporate departments. You will work closely with other sections within the Finance Directorate, particularly financial accounts and financial planning.

The post is 30 to 37.5 hours, with some flexibility, based at Kings Court 2, including some home working.

Main duties of the job

Support the Head of Finance in the provision of a highly professional and efficient management accountancy service covering the annual cycle of revenue (income and expenditure) accounting budget setting, budget reporting, monitoring and budget management.

Ensure delivery of complete, accurate and timely in-year financial reports to corporate departments. To work closely with other sections within the Finance Directorate, particularly financial accounts and financial planning.

Undertake the following:

  • Assist in the monthly budget close-down procedures
  • Assist in the provision of corporate financial reports
  • Investigation and analysis of expenditure and variances as appropriate
  • Assist with the annual budget-setting process
  • Assist in the provision of basic costing information
  • Provide advice and support to budget holders within the Trust
  • Support the financial accountancy section in the provision of in-year and year-end financial information which meets appropriate professional standards.
