This full-time qualified Accountant role working in the Management Accounts section of the finance department offers a flexible working policy, and will involve hybrid working, which includes working from home, Office Head Quarters, and at other sites across the county for meetings when required.
We are a team of 9, within a Finance, Procurement and contracts team of approximately 35 staff based in Worcester.
The role will include line management responsibilities of 2 assistant accountants, and you would be part of our senior team.
As an approved Employer with all major professional bodies and FFF accredited we will support you with your CPD and future training and development needs where many training courses are on offer, on top of on-the-job support.
Main duties of the job
On a day-to-day basis you will lead the finance support of two of our Clinical Service Delivery Units, together with some Corporate areas, giving you a varied mix of services and challenges. This will involve supporting clinical managers with budget queries, advice and training, as well as providing costings for new services, and skill mixing existing ones.
You will play a key role in the support of financial targets such as budgetary balance, savings targets and agency staffing reduction.
You will provide a professional month-end closedown, including Journals, accruals and budget adjustments. You will support our trustwide forecasting, and also write monthly reports for senior leaders.
You will line manage two of our assistant accountants, supporting them with their work, development, and training needs and their work life balance. As well as providing advice and support to the rest of the team.
You will also have the opportunity to play a role in other Trust-wide work and ad hoc returns.
