Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a speech and language therapist who is highly specialist in the field of ASD and would like to develop their leadership skills. This is a 12 month fixed term role to cover secondment and maternity leave vacancies. The clinical co-ordinator for the Umbrella team offers operational leadership to the multi disciplinary team and clinical expertise as a professional member of the assessment team. The Umbrella pathway carries out assessments for ASD with children and young people aged between 5 and 18.

Main duties of the job
.) You will work closely with the admin lead for the team, the clinical director and the clinical services manager to ensure the day to day operational management of the service. You will deal with more complex client queries and complaints. You will ensure that the targets for the service are achieved. You will manage the triage and prioritisation process with the support of the lead clinicians in the pathway. You will ensure the accurate booking of clinics and the efficient use of time. You will be a part of the clinical leadership team ensuring the quality and reliability of the service. You will offer high quality SLT assessments to children and will supervise the performance and clinical quality and development of the band 6 SLT contributions. The service is going through a period of review and transformation. You will be an active participant in this process and will be a representative of the SLT voice within this process. You will be an advocate for the needs of the families using the pathway.
