Job summary
2 posts offering exciting opportunities for a newly qualified
psychologists to join our service as band 7/8a preceptorship Psychologist. You
will be working with children and families in our core CAMH Service offering mental
health assessments, psychological interventions and care for children &
young people struggling with a range of moderate to severe mental health
difficulties. Alongside of working with their families, networks and colleagues
in the MDT. There is opportunity to work in a specialist pathway such as DBT,
Family Therapy, the Children in Care pathway. Access to specialist training
such as DBT or EMDR is available.
This is either an excellent first post after qualifying or a next step
in your career journey. We will support you with training and leadership
development alongside this you will have regular supervision with an
experienced CAMHS Psychologist as well as support from the core leadership
team.
We offer hybrid working combining working from home and working in one
of our bases.
Main duties of the job
- Working
alongside other Psychologists, CAMHS practitioners and other clinicians
offering psychological interventions to CYPs and their families.
- Assessment,
formulation, consultation, and intervention for CYPs with an emphasis on
child-centred and evidence-based care for those with moderate to severe mental
health difficulties using a range of psychological interventions that best
meets the needs of the YP and fits with the CAMH service criteria. This
includes direct work with the YP, family or consultation/liaison with the
network surrounding the child. You would
be supported to develop specialist expertise with an active CPD plan.
- Work
in collaboration with managers and senior clinicians (appropriate to the stage
of your career development) supporting the MDTs through case discussions,
formulation and care planning, as well as carrying a caseload.

- BSc/BA Honours degree at 2:1 or above in Psychology
- Post graduate Doctorate in Clinical/Counselling Psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS
- Evidence of regular continuing professional development through further professional training and experience, as required by the
- HCPC and the BPS
- Eligible for registration as a Chartered Psychologist (Clinical or Counselling) by the BPS
- Registered with HCPC as a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist
