Job summary
An
exciting and innovative opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 nurse to gain a
development role within our City Neighbourhood Mental Health Team (NMHT). The
development programme will culminate in promotion to Band 6 after 2 years and
on completion of competencies.
The
NMHTs are at the forefront of providing accessible mental health care,
integrating both primary and secondary mental health services into a combined
service, in line with NHS Long Term Plan objectives.
There
are five Neighbourhood Mental Health teams in Herefordshire, the advertised
post is to be based within the City Team in Hereford.
Each Neighbourhood Mental Health Team is
comprised of mental health practitioners (nurses, occupational therapists
and/or social workers) support workers, clinical psychologists and consultant
psychiatrists. Additionally, the teams are supported by Link workers from MIND
and Individual Placement and Support specialists with the aim of providing a
holistic, recovery focused service. We work closely with our Primary care
networks demonstrating good relationships and communication with our respective
GP partners. The teams are close-knit and supportive with regular MDT meetings,
Individual/group supervisions and team away-days. For more information please

Main duties of the job
This post is suitable for someone who is passionate about providing high
quality holistic care to clients who are experiencing distress due to
deterioration in their Mental Health. This individual will be passionate about
supporting and sign-posting patients in the least restrictive way to promote,
health, independence and recovery.
