Job summary
We have a fantastic opportunity for a band 6 mental health practitioner to join our Herefordshire Early Intervention in Psychosis Service.
We are looking to appoint highly skilled and experienced mental health professional that has the skills, experience, and interest in working with patients who have or have experienced psychosis. The service addresses the needs of people (aged 14-65) who have recently experienced a first episode of psychosis or may be at risk of developing psychosis. The team is a countywide service, supporting individuals and their families to talk about and understand their psychosis experiences, to cope with changes that have occurred and to promote recovery.
In your role you will provide a range of skilled mental health interventions and manage a defined caseload, assessing, planning, delivering, and evaluating care and actively contributing to groups and family work.

Professional development is encouraged; there are strong links with local and regional CPD and training networks, with regular trainees on specialist placements.
This position is based in Herefordshire. There is some ability to work from home and the successful candidate will need to be able to meet the travel requirements of the role. Full time post 37.5 hours per week, over 5 days.
Main duties of the job
- To work as an independent practitioner, using initiative and responsibility for the quality of their work and the service they provide to patients.
- Work sensitively to deliver services to young people with psychosis, providing appropriate support and interventions to clients and their families in the local community.
- Carry responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and the setting of standards of care.
- Additionally, they will manage a defined caseload and will be responsible for the supervision, deployment and teaching of staff and learners.
- Have an active part in the development of the service across the locality.
