to join our Older Adult mental Health Inpatient service.
We
have challenging, demanding yet highly rewarding opportunities to join our
multidisciplinary team. we are seeking motivated individuals with a passion for
older adult mental health and a commitment to support continually improving
quality.
New Haven consists of two wards woodland for
functional mental health needs and meadow for dementia care.
The team at Newhaven are friendly, supportive,
and exceptionally caring, putting patient care at the heart of the work we do
to improve health care outcomes and service delivery.
We can offer up to 37.5 hours a week. Our
working patterns are 3-4 long days/ night (07:30-20:00/19:30-08:00) across a
four week period including weekends and bank holidays.
Main duties of the job
Role Requirements
- We welcome newly qualified nurses and experienced nurses
- The ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels
- An enthusiastic,
motivated, and innovative thinker to become part of the Older Adult inpatient
service
- The ability to work
autonomously managing your own named patients, developing a plan of care.
- The ability to problem
solves, delegate, lead, co-ordinate and manage time effectively
- Excellent communication
and inter-personal skills along with a flexible, responsive approach.
Day to Day elements
- Close working with all members of the Multi-disciplinary Team
- Undertaking mental health needs assessments
- Assessment and Management of risk
- Liaising with other services such as, community mental health team,
Hospital at Home Team, Mental Health Liaison Team, and the Acute Trust
- Effective assessment through SBAR and care planning
- Delegation and shift management
- Supervising of junior staff, including students
