Job summary

We are looking to recruit compassionate Healthcare Assistants to work in one of our community teams, care assistants who have experience in care and want to join the NHS to build a career. Our community Neighbourhood Teams can support you to gain new skills and prepare you to take the next steps towards development to a community nursing role. When experienced we can now offer Health Care Assistants progression opportunity to undertake the Nursing Associate Role with further potential to become a Registered Nurse.

On completion of your successful application, you will be invited to our Recruitment Event held at Orchard Place, Redditch on Saturday 14th January 2023 between 10am and 2 pm.

The Healthcare Assistant role is varied offering patients treatments such as insulin injections, wound care and providing a range of care skills. You will work alongside nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapists to provide skilled care to people with health needs in their own homes. Your development is important to us as we are building a talented workforce for the future for our local population.

Main duties of the job

The role will require:

A car driver with a valid driving license.

Working in one of the Neighbourhood Teams in the local area

The service operates from 7:30am 18:30pm for the day teams Monday to Sunday including bank holidays), additional enhanced payments are paid for weekend working

Experience in a care assistant role in a hospital, care home or care agency.

While on duty you will either be working alone or alongside colleagues. Your typical working day could include caring for people reaching the end of their life, supporting personal care, participating in manual handling, recording observations and all types of wound care- post operative wounds, leg ulcers, pressure ulcers and complex dressing regimes. You will be supported to gain the competencies you need.
