Job summary
We are looking for an
enthusiastic, Clinical Liaison Practitioner to contribute to the development
and delivery of The Complex Needs Service (CNS). The post is 30 hours/week.
CNS supports patients diagnosed
with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) using the Structured Clinical
Management framework. This is a specialist role working as part of a
well-resourced, closely-knit team to work on the assessment process for
patients, liaison with patients and other clinicians in the community and
inpatient services also providing training and support to clinicians, friends
and family.
There is also an opportunity to
deliver DBT in a well-established team.
You will need to have excellent
interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic and be a good team player. You will receive a high level of Training and
individual/group supervision and will attend weekly group reflective practice,
facilitated by an external psychotherapist.
Main duties of the job
- Whilst team working is
paramount, you will be an autonomous practitioner, taking responsibility for
your diary and decision making.
- You will provide consultation,
support, advice and training to patients, colleagues, GPs and families/friends in
relation to the diagnosis, development and treatment options around BPD.
- Delivery of psychoeducation from
a trauma informed perspective via the Knowledge and Understanding Framework
training, and Friends & Family groups will be a central part of your work.
- You will work across all care
pathways within the Trust in terms of liaising around relevant patients and
their treatment needs. You will role
model a positive approach in relation to working with this patient group and address
stigma as you find it.
- In addition you will undertake
DBT training and become part of the established DBT team. This would also
enhance and maintain your skills in working with this patient group.
