Are you looking to
join a PLAN accredited network service, providing 24 hour response to our Acute
Accident and Emergency departments in Worcestershire? Herefordshire and
Worcestershire Health and Care Trust have received permanent investment to
expand our mental health liaison service to operate a Core 24 service within
the urgent care pathway. We are looking for Band 6 Mental Health Professionals
to become part of our established, well respected, dynamic and diverse team.
Are you an enthusiastic, flexible, team player with a natural empathy for
people who experience mental health problems who has the ability to work
autonomously whilst contributing to the team as a whole? If you enjoy the
challenge and stimulus of working under pressure in a quick changing
environment – this maybe the role for you. We operate 24 hours per day, 365 days
a year. Practitioners are expected to work a shift pattern that includes
nights. Part-time hours are available.
Main duties of the job
The team will provide comprehensive assessment, advice, ongoing support
& monitoring of patients with mental health needs across all wards. We
provide psychological support to patients and carers referred to our services
in conjunction with ongoing physical health needs, ensuring holistic care
throughout the patients stay in hospital. Band 6 clinicians, work as
enthusiastic team members across the Acute hospitals, assessing patients in an
autonomous, systematic way, developing and reviewing treatment plans, advising
and supporting Acute staff and referring patients on through established
referral pathways. Clinicians also
contribute to the development of training packages & to deliver bespoke
training to Acute Trust staff. We provide guidance, support and education to
frontline NHS staff. This is an opportunity to be part of a developing team
which will be researched based in design according to the need of the Acute
inpatient population.

provide to patients, carer’s and families.
In partnership with patients, carers and other agencies
(both NHS and voluntary) create effective, dynamic and robust risk management

appropriate in regards to mental health issues and illness, encouraging
empowerment, independence and informed decision making.
