We are looking for dynamic, passionate and adaptable mental health nurses & learning disability nurses to join our dedicated team.

Athelon Ward is a 14 bedded, mixed gender Acute Mental Health ward situated in Worcester and part of the provision of acute inpatient services across Herefordshire and Worcestershire. It is a vital service for supporting those with acute mental health difficulties of varying complexities. Patients admitted can both be informal or detained under the Mental Health Act and require a holistic care approach to work towards their Recovery. Applicants should have an interest in both mental and physical health care delivery. Within the last approximately 12 months Athelon Ward has recently relocated to Worcester across Trust sites resulting in a new, therapeutic ward environment to enhance patient experience, and improve ward safety. Main duties of the job

Ensure that information regarding patients needs and progress are communicated promptly and accurately to their relatives and carers having due regard for confidentiality.

The ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels.

The ability to work autonomously managing your own named patients, involving patients in collaborating and developing appropriate plans of care and risk assessments.

The ability to problem solve, delegate, lead, co-ordinate and manage time effectively.

Excellent inter-personal skills along with an adaptable, and responsive approach.

Effective assessment and care planning processes.

Understanding of relevant legislation and expectations in regards to the role such as the Mental Health Act (1983) and revised subsequent act, Mental Capacity Act (2005) and the NMC Professional Code of Conduct.

Ensure detailed and appropriate records are maintained to demonstrate that contact with people who use services, and their carers is meaningful and effective.

This post is suitable for both newly qualified & experienced RMNs & RNLDs looking for a new challenge in a fast paced inpatient ward.

A fully supportive preceptorship programme is provided for newly qualified applicants as well as a welcoming induction, and future career development opportunities.

We operate a rotational shift pattern system over 24 hours / seven-day period. The day shift starts at 07.00hrs till 19:30hrs and the night shift at 19.00hrs till 07.30 hrs.
