This is a part time post working 22.5 hours per week over 3 days.
Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care Trust, in collaboration with Dementia UK, are looking to recruit an exceptional registered nurse (RN, RNMH, RNLD) to work within our well-established Admiral Nurse team.
Admiral Nurses are specialist dementia nurses who provide support for families facing dementia, helping to prevent or manage complex issues. Admiral Nurses can give tailored health advice and emotional support and help to build links with other health and care professionals. For many families, they can be a lifeline.
The Herefordshire and Worcestershire Admiral Nurse Service is a small but supportive team of nurses working across the 2 counties. We are looking for a passionate, caring and confident nurse to join our team. Within the role you will provide specialist one-to-one support, guidance, and practical solutions to families and carers. You will work alongside colleagues in Older Adult Community Mental Health and will help to promote Best Practice in Dementia Care across the wider Health and Care Trust.
As an Admiral Nurse you will have access to an excellent programme of Continuing Professional Development and a comprehensive offering of clinical supervision with opportunities available through the Health and Care Trust and the National Charity, Dementia UK.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as an Admiral Nurse within the well-established Admiral Nurse service provided by Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care Trust in collaboration with Dementia UK.
In line with the Admiral Nurse Competency framework at a specialist level, the post holder will provide:
Specialist bio-psychosocial assessment and support for carers/families affected by dementia where there are complex needs
Facilitation of education and training for staff in the delivery of evidence-based dementia care
Support with policy development and quality improvements in relation to dementia care
