Job summary
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a full time Consultant Psychiatrist to join the South Wychavon & Malvern Older Adult CMHT in Worcestershire.
The team comprises 0.85 WTE Team Manager, 2 WTE Consultants, 4.6 WTE Community Psychiatric Nurses, 1 WTE Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP), 1.8 WTE Occupational Therapists, 1.2 WTE Psychologist, 2.8 WTE Healthcare Support Workers, 1.8 WTE Medical Secretaries, 1.4 WTE Team Secretaries.
The CMHT provides a service to people over 65 years old with a secondary mental health need. Population size approx. 7,800 for Evesham & Pershore.
The team is supported by a Home Treatment Team as well as a Duty and Triage Team that screens new referrals and undertakes urgent assessments.
Leadership and management activities are actively encouraged and supported.
Office base at Waterside, Evesham Community Hospital.
The post is supported by a junior doctor.

Main duties of the job
On a day-to-day basis the Consultant
Psychiatrist will have a close working relationship with the MDT through joint
working, consultation and the provision of advice to the Duty & Triage Team
and other health and social care professionals.
Psychiatric input will be delivered through
comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, care planning and treatment formulation, utilising
evidence-based treatments.
A focus on holistic assessment and management
of patients addressing biopsychosocial needs of patients and involving family
members and carers as necessary.
Supervision of Junior Doctors as well as Nurse
Prescribers /Advanced Clinical Practitioners within the clinical team.
Collaborative working with the Team Leader to
provide leadership to the multidisciplinary team and the Clinical Director with
a wider focus on service provision and quality of patient care.
Participation in the consultant on-call rota
out of hours, including weekends.
