Paediatric Respiratory Physiotherapist

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist to work within the children and young peoples team in Worcestershire alongside our Childrens Community Nursing Service (Orchard Service). The post would be based in our Paediatric Physiotherapy team, where leadership and supervision will be provided. Our Nursing service will support clinical management of this caseload.

This is full time post, but we would consider applicants looking for part time.

Main duties of the job

1. Provide a respiratory physiotherapy service to children with complex health needs, with aim of preventing hospital admission.

2. Work in collaboration with the Orchard Team

3. Follow developed pathway criteria, treatment modalities and a competency and training package

4. Offer training to families, carers, other professionals in respiratory management for this identified cohort of patients.

5. Collection of data to report to ICB

6. To act as a source of clinical expertise/advice and guidance for families, carers and other members of the MDT including health, education and social care

  • Experience of working with children at band 6
  • Experience of supervision of junior staff or students
  • Experience of delegation to qualified / unqualified staff

  • Diploma / Degree in Physiotherapy
  • Evidence of relevant post Graduate) courses / CPD maintained in portfolio
  • Member of CSP and APCP
