Job summary

Are you ready for a new challenge? We are looking to recruit 2 enthusiastic individuals to complete the Pharmacy Technician (integrated) Level 3 Apprenticeship as part of our team who are responsible for delivering pharmacy services to our community hospitals, mental health inpatient wards, mental health community teams and specialised clinical services across Herefordshire and Worcestershire .The entry requirements are grade 5 or above in Maths, Science and English Language (all are required). Training course fees are paid for from the government funded apprenticeship scheme, so if you do not hold the required qualifications or already hold a Degree in a closely related subject to this post, you will not be eligible for funding and will not be shortlisted. Please note that successful applicants must bring their original certificates to interview. Currently there are no weekend duties, bank holiday working or late nights. You may be expected to work some Saturday mornings in the future.

Main duties of the job

As a pre registration pharmacy technician you will work alongside a variety of pharmacy professionals and be supported to obtain and demonstrate competencies in dispensary, stores and procurement duties as well as ward based activities such as stock top ups, individual patient medication ordering and medicines reconciliation.

This is a rewarding and challenging role where you will need to demonstrate that you are organised and self-motivated to manage working and studying to complete the training programme, whilst putting patient care at the heart of your work to improve healthcare outcomes and service delivery.

Pharmacy Technicians are vital members of the healthcare team and are integral to the supply of medicines to patients as well as medicines management and optimisation across healthcare organisations.
