If yes, this could be the ideal job for you. You would work as a Band 6 Occupational Therapist in the countywide Integrated Neurology Service in Worcestershire. You would be based in the north of the county but would provide flexibility for countywide cover as required. Your role would focus on long term conditions management, working with specialist nurses and physiotherapists, as well as regional specialist centres and OTs in locality services. This is an evolving role with opportunity for service development.

This is full time post, but we would consider applicants looking for part time (minimum 30 hours per week)

Main duties of the job

Community based assessment and treatment of neurological patients; goal orientated, person-centred care

Managing the changing presentation of patients with a neurodegenerative condition to ensure maximum quality of life is maintained at each stage of their condition journey

MDT neuro falls clinic joint with neuro physio

Condition specific New Patient education groups

Development and participation in symptom management group work

Referral triage for the neurology single point of access

Service development in line with objectives from your annual review and service need

MDT meetings within our service and external partners e.g. regional centres

Supervision of students

Providing training for patients, carers and team members on patient specific issues and to increase the knowledge of the team

Joint working with specialist nurses

Joint working with locality OT teams

Peer supervision with Band 6 OT and PT colleagues

Bi-annual service away days
