Job summary
We
are looking to recruit a dynamic, motivated Consultant to work in our Mental
Health Home Treatment Team situated in the north of the County. This full time post is based at the Hillcrest
Unit in Redditch and is supported by a SAS grade colleague. Designated office
space will be provided along with a Trust laptop and smartphone.
The

There is a weekly local teaching
programme and a Trusts Grand Rounds monthly. You will be supported in your CPD
and development of a special interest. You will be joining a supportive,
cohesive group of consultants who work together to provide the services
locally.

Main duties of the job
Herefordshire &
Worcestershire Health & Care NHS Trust covers the whole of Worcestershire,
a mixed rural and urban area of over 500 square miles and around million
population. It covers the City of Worcester together with the towns of
Kidderminster, Stourport, Bewdley, Tenbury Wells, Bromsgrove, Redditch,
Droitwich, Evesham, Pershore, Malvern and Upton upon Severn.
There are 2 Home Treatment
Teams in the north of the County, Wyre Forest Home Treatment covers approx. 25
GP surgeries throughout Kidderminster, Bewdley, Stourport, Tenbury Wells and
parts of Stourbridge. Redditch and Bromsgrove covers approx. 28 GP surgeries
throughout Redditch, Bromsgrove, Romsley, Alvechurch, Wythall and Belbroughton.
We offer intensive patient care for patients as an alternative to hospital
admission and also to those who are at risk of significant deterioration. We
have close links with the acute wards and offer support to patients on leave
and to help facilitate discharge from hospital. We also provide a 72 hour
Crisis Support Service for patients who require shorter term interventions. The
working age population for Home Treatment North is Bromsgrove is 58,000, Wyre
Forest is 60,700 and Redditch is
55,800.

On a day to day basis the Consultant
Psychiatrist will be in a close working relationship with the Home Treatment
Team in the North Locality including Redditch, Bromsgrove and Wyre Forest.
The team has two subgroups, one
dedicated to Redditch and Bromsgrove area with a base in Redditch and the
second providing service for the Wyre Forest Area based in Kidderminster. The
teams are made up of Clinical leads, Senior and Junior Nurses, Social workers,
OT, Recovery Workers and has access to psychology including close working
relationship with the Community Neighbourhood mental Health Teams and Inpatient
units.
The post holder will have a close working
relationship on clinical maters with both Multi-disciplinary teams and liaise
with the Home Treatment Clinical Leads to maintain ongoing communication with
the Inpatient, Crisis Team, Liaison Team and Community Services in order to
promote a safe a seamless service. There
is an overall Lead for HT North and South Localities overseeing leadership and
management of the service.
Supervise and manage two SAS doctors (1WTE) within
the team covering Redditch and Bromsgrove and Wyre Forest locality.
On a more strategic level they will relate to the
leadership and management structures of the Adult Mental Health and Learning
Disability Service Delivery Unit.
From an overall operational prospective the post
holder will be accountable to the Clinical Directors and professional
responsibility will relate to the Medical Director; all are ultimately
responsible within the Trust to the Chief Executive.
