Job summary

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic housekeeper who wants to work as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team. Previous experience as a housekeeper is not essential as in-house training will be provided to ensure you are fully equipped to meet the demands of this role.

Abbott Ward is a 13 bedded Stroke/Rehabilitation ward based at Evesham Community Hospital, Herefordshire & Worcestershire Health & Care Trust. You will be required to work 15 hours a week over 4-5 days Monday Friday.

Please note the Trust will not provide sponsorship to work for this role, to apply you must have current right to work in the UK status.

Main duties of the job

Monitor and maintain high standards of cleaning and hygiene standards of ward including treatment room/stock room/store rooms/day room/offices/ kitchen (including fridge and microwave), ensuring all equipment/utensils and surfaces are clean at all times, eg discarding out of date food, stock rotation.

Responsible for ensuring the communal areas, day rooms & patient bays are kept clean, tidy and welcoming for patients and visitors.

Support the Ward Manager in helping to ensure the ward environment is safe and tidy including the removal of any hazards/clutter. Report any accidents or incidents as per Trust policy.

Prepare and serve hot/cold beverages at the scheduled times.

Prepare and serve hot/cold snacks (eg toast) as requested.

Serve patients meals, adhering to food hygiene regulations.

Be aware of increased nutritional needs. Ensure these needs are met by assisting patients to eat and drink, eg cutting up food, placing food within easy reach.

Liaise with patients and carers to ensure they have sufficient supply of clothing and toiletries.
