Job summary

This is a full time post.

We are looking to recruit a full time Ward Administrator 37.5 hours per week. You will be required to work office hours Monday to Friday although there may be a little flexibility around start and finish times. You will be based on Mortimer Ward a 20 bedded adult acute admission ward at The Stonebow Unit, an Acute mental health inpatient service in central Hereford.

This is a busy and varied role, which requires the post holder to have a flexible approach and a calm, professional manner who can work independently and as part of a team. You will have detailed knowledge of Microsoft office and an understanding of the Data Protection Act and NHS Code of Conduct. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, which will support you in dealing with telephone or face to face enquiries from patients, relatives and other professionals such as GPs and outside agencies.

Main duties of the job

In this role you will be working in the ward office alongside nursing and allied health professionals providing support to the multi-disciplinary team. You will also work in collaboration with the admin team on reception and other wards and teams within the Unit.
