Job summary
The Special school nursing team are currently
recruiting for a Band 5 Registered nurse to join our well-established Special School
Nursing team within Herefordshire & Worcestershire Health and Care NHS
Trust.
This post has a base in the South
Locality but the Special school nursing service is Countywide and covers 7
Special schools across Worcestershire so you may be required to work across the
county at times.
This post is for 26 hours per week
working term-time plus two weeks across the school holidays.
It is essential that the successful
candidate has recent clinical skills and experience in caring for
children/young people with complex health needs. It would also be desirable to
have recent experience of working in a community setting.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to work independently but support is
available through the wider team. This post requires excellent communication
skills, flexibility, motivation, innovation, the ability to work effectively in
planning and prioritising workload which is varied and very busy. You must be
able to plan and evaluate care needs, have excellent clinical skills and
assessment skills, deliver teaching sessions in school and assess staff for
competencies to undertake health interventions.
The successful applicant must also have a good understanding of IT as
this is a requirement of the role. e.g. ESR, electronic patient records, Excel
but this list of requirements is not exclusive.
