High Intensity CBT Trainees.
Are you a registered core professional or
able to evidence that you can meet the Knowledge, Skills and Attitude (KSA)
requirements of BABCP and are looking for a career change, or to enhance your
skills is psychological therapies?
The training will be undertaken at Coventry
University starting 20 Jan 2025. It will consist of 2 days a week at University
and three days supervised practice over a 12 month period. This will lead to a post graduate diploma and
the opportunity to become accredited with the British Association of Cognitive
and Behavioural Therapists. Clinical
practice will take place within the Talking Therapies Service.
If
shortlisted you will need to apply for the course via Coventry University and
an on-line academic screening will be on 16 Oct 2024. Those successful in this screening will then
be invited to a joint interview with the University and Talking Therapies on 30
Oct 2024.
Redditch
is a relatively new Town, near Birmingham and has good links to M42, M5 and a
train station within walking distance to the office. We have also moved to a
newly refurbished office within the town centre, offering plenty of space and
comfort for therapists and patients.
Upon
successful completion of the course, you will be offered a permanent Band 7
High Intensity CBT Therapist post.
Main duties of the job
A typical week will involve working autonomously and as part of a team. Working within a hybrid model you will take a
blended approach to home, office-based working and attendance at University. Under supervision you will collaboratively
with patients in your care to assess and provide psychological interventions
and support individuals to work towards recovery. You will maintain clear and accurate clinical
records and will be supported to embed learning and reflect in and on practice
via regular supervision. You will be
recording clinical sessions for academic purposes. You will be offered regular opportunity for
peer support. You will share an
effective interface both with your team and with relevant allied agencies
within the care pathway. Alongside
managing a small caseload, you will also be undertaking academic
assignments. Preparation and
organisation will form a key part of your weekly structure.
