The role will provide you with variety and no two days are the same. You will need to have some knowledge of stroke and its effects and an understanding of rehabilitation.
If you would like to discuss informally if this is the right role for you, please get in touch with the recruiting manger which can be found on the top right-hand side of the advert.
Main duties of the job
Your role will be to deliver therapy treatment programmes and monitor the patients health status, whilst supporting and encouraging independence within activities of living. The programmes are written by highly skilled therapists who can support and guide your understanding in delivering rehabilitation programmes. Occasionally there are some administrative duties, including visit planning.
Stroke is on a vast spectrum and no individual stroke survivor has a standard presentation. You will be involved with physiotherapy treatment, cognitive rehabilitation and speech and language therapy. You will be supported over a year to achieve the necessary stroke competencies at this level. You will also be expected to participate within the team to support the psychological well-being of our patients and their loved ones. It is a most rewarding job in seeing real positive changes.
You will receive clinical supervision 6-8 weekly by a Band 6 colleague. We have a rolling programme of in-service education which we encourage everyone to participate in. There is also a wide range of well-being support.
