Job summary

We are the main provider of mental health services across the two counties and our ambition is to work with our partners to lead the way in ensuring mental health is understood, that stigma be reduced, and that awareness of local services and support is increased.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about communications and helping the people of Herefordshire and Worcestershire access the services that are right for them. You will be able to develop creative strategies for effective marketing and communications activities across different platforms including traditional and social media. Although very much a part of the Trusts Communications Team, the postholder will work closely with our service leads and partners to provide a seamless experience for our patients, service users and carers.

Your main work base will be Kings Court 2 in Worcester, however the team work flexibly with some days working from home and some days out with our services and partners as required.

Main duties of the job

  • Lead the development and delivery of a mental health focussed marketing and communications plan for the Trust to support service improvement.
  • Work with service leads to utilise service marketing tools to improve the service user journey and outcomes.
  • Lead promotional/awareness campaigns and events.
  • Lead on mental health content for social media/other public facing platforms.
  • Manage media handling relating to mental health, including dealing with media enquiries and writing press releases to publicise the Trusts activities and achievements and ensure positive media coverage.

You will initially focus on developing a clear roadmap of mental health and emotional wellbeing services for children and young people, including joining up pathways and guidance to support a single point of access, linking to existing mental health promotional work. This role will continue to evolve with the needs of our services and offers incredible variety in the projects youll work on.
