Job summary

  • Mental Health Support Teams in Schools in H & W is expanding further.
  • Known as Wellbeing & Emotional Support Teams (WEST), service is across H & W schools to provide early help for CYP ages 5 - 18 experiencing MH problems
  • We offer evidence-based low intensity CBT interventions for CYP, whole school approach & consultations in schools
  • We are supportive, share knowledge, learn from our experiences, have attractive training packages, making the work place a good place to be
  • Service is Mon - Fri 9 - 5, multi professional working
  • We are expanding our portfolio of schools in South Worcestershire and hence four trainee posts for this locality based team.
  • Successful candidates will undertake the EMHP Training course at University of Exeter. This is a virtual/hybrid course with no requirement to attend Exeter. Starting mid-September Initial contract is fixed term 2 years at band 4, once qualified and registered with the accredited governing body a permanent contract to a band 5 will take place.

Main duties of the job

  • Be educationally supervised, assess & deliver outcome focused, evidence-based interventions in educational settings for CYP
  • Developing skills in supporting CYP with mild to moderate MH difficulties, parents/carers, & educators in the self-management of presenting difficulties
  • Where appropriate parents/carers to collaborate & coproduce their own agreed plan of care
  • Undertake accurate assessments of risk to self & others
  • Engage & learn from aligned education setting/MH Links
  • Engage in robust managerial & clinical supervision & agree CYP cases
  • Practice, evidence, reflect on & demonstrate an ability to manage ones own caseload
  • Attend multi-professional meetings
  • Keep coherent records of all training & clinical activity in line with both health and education service protocols and use these records & outcome data to inform decision making, provide data collection
  • Evidence of working within a collaborative approach, with teachers, parents, CYP, wider community
  • Development of clinical/training materials
